Crop Report Kentucky Bluegrass and Fine-leaf Fescue Northeast Oregon
For the most part, fields went into winter in good shape. We had good fall moisture, beginning in August, and conditions were mild right up through the first of the year and grass continued to grow. Because of the rain in August there were more fields than normal that did not get burned which will ultimately hurt the yield and quality on those fields. But because of the good fall moisture and mild temperatures all the fall planted fields look very good and should mostly have full yields in 2024. Acres will be down about 20% overall with bluegrass acres specifically down over 33%.
